A man found with stab wounds after an incident on Wistaston Road in Crewe, has died.

Police cordoned off the busy street after reports of a stabbing incident, and found a 26-year-old with serious wounds.

He was taken to North Staffordshire Royal Infirmary in a critical condition.

The victim died in hospital earlier today (Saturday January 5), despite the efforts of medical staff. His family have been informed.

Two men in their 20s were arrested in connection with the incident which happened at around 7.20pm last night (January 4).

They continue to help police with their enquiries.

In a statement, police said:  “Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed anything to make contact with police on 101 quoting incident number 773 of Jan 4.”
