Nantwich Town new signing Paul Brown is settling down in his new surroundings at the Weaver Stadium.

Brown made a fine debut in the 2-2 draw at Witton Albion on New Year’s Day after his move from Marine.

“I enjoyed the game at Witton,” said the former England semi-professional international. “And I’m pleased to be here at Nantwich Town.”

The 28-year-old started his career at Tranmere Rovers, making his league debut for Rovers in November 2004.

He made three more first team appearances for the Prenton Park club before moving on to Barrow after a loan stint at Accrington Stanley, who were then in the Conference Premier.

“Paul has got the experience we need in the middle of the park,” said Nantwich boss Jimmy Quinn.

“He’s got the pedigree and experience at this level and above, and his quality can help us in our push for the play-offs.”

The Liverpool-born midfielder made over 150 appearances for Barrow and gained a reputation for getting goals – 27 during his time in Cumbria.

While at Holker Street he also gained an international cap for England C in the 4-0 win over Malta under 21s in February 2009.

He moved on to Droylsden, Witton Albion and then Vauxhall Motors.

He originally signed for Marine in September 2011 from Blue Square North side Droylsden but left the Mariners for a brief spell at Workington, returning at the end of October 2012 before moving on to the Weaver Stadium.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
