Nantwich Town hope to close the gap on the playoff places to two points when they welcome Buxton tonight (Nov 20).
Defeats against Frickley Athletic and North Ferriby United and the draw against local rivals Stafford Rangers on Saturday have left the Dabbers with work to do to climb the table.
Their second-half fightback against Rangers showed the character in the Nantwich side.
And Jimmy Quinn’s side will be keen to take the positives from that into tonight’s key Evo-Stik Premier League game.
The Bucks are also suffering from inconsistencies with a similar record that has seen a solid away record ruined by poor home results.
Martin McIntosh’s side will need to get back on track as they also have hopes of a playoff place with games in hand.
Nantwich are likely to be without Mat Bailey as the ex Crewe Alex defender picked up an injury on Saturday.
Darren Moss and Christian Smith are both fighting to replace the defender with Niall Maguire likely to keep his place after impressing and Caspar Hughes likely to be fit again and in contention.
Boss Quinn said: “I was disappointed to only come away with a draw on Saturday.
“Whilst it was a tight game, we showed our quality especially in the last 20 minutes and Kyle should have wrapped up all 3 points for us, as he had a great opportunity, though we need to be more consistent and do it for 90 minutes.
“I can’t fault the attitude of the lads and whilst losing Mat is a blow, hopefully it wont be as long as we first feared and we will know more in the next couple of days.
“However we have some strength in depth and able experienced replacements and as always we will be going out to win three points and keep ourselves up in the top part of the table.”
Tonight’s kick off at the Weaver Stadium is 7.45pm. Tickets are adults £9, concessions £6, under 16s £2.
