Willaston Remembrance Service, Mike Heywood Green

Thousands gathered in Nantwich and surrounding villages to pay tribute on Remembrance Sunday.

A service and parade took place in Nantwich town centre and St Mary’s Church.

Hundreds of people took part, including members of local armed services, Cadets, Scouts, Guides and other organisations.

Dignataries including the town mayor, local councillors and group leaders also attended.

The parade went down Beam Street, round Oatmarket, up High Street and to the town square.

Wreaths were placed at the war memorial and a service held at St Mary’s Church.

Many villages around the region held their own services.

Scores gathered on Willaston’s Mike Heywood Green for a service, with youngsters from local Scouts, Guides, and Cubs groups taking part.

Even young rugby players from Crewe & Nantwich RUFC stopped their games to observe the two-minute silence with respect at their away games at Old Anselmians, on the Wirrall.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
