Xmas Lights switch on poster, Nantwich

London 2012 bronze medallist Beth Tweddle will be turning on the Christmas Lights in Nantwich next month, it has emerged.

The Bunbury-based Olympic gymnast will be one of the highlights of a packed programme for the December 1 Lights Switch On event.

Nantwich Town Council has teamed up with Redshift Radio, town centre traders and others to lay on a range of entertainment.

Many shops will be opening up on Sundays, and there will be a Christingle Service and a Lantern Parade from Richmond Village.

There will be live music from Hex and Tim Gallagher, entertainment from Nantwich Young Voices, and fireworks from Crewe-based Blitz Fireworks

RedShift Radio, currently broadcasting on 87.7 FM until December, will be running competitions during the afternoon and evening.

All the fun starts at 2pm and runs through until around 7.30pm

On November 18 and 25, Richmond Village off London Road will be hosting lantern making workshops.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
