A51 Bypass crash

A lorry loaded with cheese got into a pickle when it crashed into a hedge on a busy Nantwich road.

Police say the 44-tonne wagon swerved to avoid another vehicle before crashing on Main Road, in Worleston, Nantwich.

The cab of the lorry, registered to a local farm, toppled over, partially blocking the route at around 6am.

The trailer remained upright and the driver managed to scramble clear without injuries.

A Cheshire Police spokeswoman said the road was closed off from the A51 Reaseheath roundabout so emergency services could recover the vehicle.

“Thankfully its load of cheese remained on board, and there were no injuries,” she added.

“We had to close the road from the Reaseheath roundabout as it happened on a bend, and the cab toppled over.”

The road was reopened at about 8.45am.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
