Willaston Jubilee and Rose Queen Fete - land train

Sainsbury’s Nantwich has helped a local village secure the future of its Rose Queen and summer fete.

Willaston Parish Council has been presented with a £100 community grant which will ensure the continuance of the annual event.

The donation came about after the annual summer fete was reinstated after 20 years.

Sainsbury’s Community Grant scheme, which helps charitable groups in the local area, is funded by sales of “Bags for Life”.

So customers at Sainsbury’s Nantwich who buy a “Bag for Life” are making a contribution to local causes.

Sainsbury’s Nantwich store manager Ian Sutton said: “Our store is at the heart of the local community and it is important we can do as much as we can to support it.

“When we heard about the Rose Queen and the summer fete, we were really pleased to be able to help out.”

Last year, the community grants scheme provided £135,000 of donations, nominated by store managers and colleagues from stores nationwide.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
