Nantwich Town FC have struck a new sponsorship deal with ice cream van makers Whitby Morrison.

The initial three-year agreement with the Crewe-based manufacturer will see Whitby Morrison partnering the club in a number of commercial initiatives.

These include the naming of the far side stand at the Weaver Stadium, now to be known as the “Whitby Morrison Ice Cream Van Stand”.

Nantwich Town chairman Jon Gold said: “This is tremendous news for the club and its supporters.

“We are extremely fortunate to have a great number of long-term quality commercial partners, who all play a major part in ensuring we are able to build on the success we’ve enjoyed and I am proud the Whitby Morrison brand name will be now joining them.”

Ed Whitby added: “Following our recent agreement with Crewe Alexandra this was a natural progression for us and it’s nice to be able to support both our local football teams.

“The wonderful facilities coupled with the success Nantwich Town have attained over the past few years has been impressive.

“The fact they are a community-based club is something that fits very closely with our own ideals and beliefs and we look forward to very much to playing a part in all this.”

The company is planning to hold an annual two-day event in October at the Weaver Stadium.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
