A51 Bypass crash

A woman had to be cut free from the wreckage of a road accident by fire crews on a busy road near Nantwich.

The accident happened on the A534 near the village of Ridley, and involved a car and a second vehicle towing a horsebox.

Crews from Tarporley and Malpas attended and found one female was trapped inside one of the vehicles.

They cut the vehicle roof off to release the victim before paramedics treated her at the scene.

The accident happened at around 8.45am yesterday (Sept 22).

In a separate incident nearby, a man was injured when his vehicle hit a tree on the A49 between Beeston and Faddiley.

Crews had to remove the vehicle roof to free him before he was treated at the scene.

The incident happened at around 10.30am on Friday September 21.
