The Wistaston Singers

By Jonathan White
A local singing group is hoping to unearth new singing talent in the Nantwich area.

The Wistaston Singers are on the lookout for new members, particularly new sopranos and tenors.

Choir rehearsals take place on Wednesdays 7.30pm to 9.30pm at the refurbished Nantwich Parish Hall, opposite St Mary’s Church.

The Wistaston Singers was formed by members of the choir at St Mary’s Parish Church, Wistaston, in May 2000 and now numbers some 35 members singing four-part harmony music.

The choir performs a variety of music ranging from choral church music and anthems, Gilbert and Sullivan items, music from the shows, and from modern composers such as John Rutter covering from the 17th century to the 20th century.

They perform up to five concerts a year at South Cheshire venues and beyond and are also invited to perform at weddings.

Members are amateur singers who rehearse and perform for their enjoyment of music and singing.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
