Debbie Hinbest, of Wulvern Housing

Nantwich housing provider Wulvern has launched an apprenticeship scheme to help young people onto the career ladder.

Wulvern wants to recruit eight apprentices, from both business and trade areas, to start in October 2012.

Crewe and Nantwich residents aged between 16 and 18 years old can apply for the positions.

There are four places in administration, and a further four in the trade’s teams including plasterers, electricians, plumbers and joiners.

The paid apprenticeships will last for 2 to 3 years, with apprentices attending college one day per week to gain a recognised qualification.

Debbie Hinbest, director of human resources, said: “We are really excited to be launching our apprenticeship scheme.

“These apprenticeships will provide not only invaluable work experience for young people, but also a nationally recognised qualification.”

Rob Allen, Wulvern’s partnerships director, added: “We want to raise the aspirations of young people in the area.

“Our apprenticeship programme is part of our commitment to the All Change for Crewe project to deliver social and economic benefits.”

Open days are being held at Wulvern’s head office on Thursday August 16 and Tuesday August 21. Applicants can meet the team, collect an application pack and seek advice.

Anyone interested should call 01270 503521.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
