The Very Best in Stand Up” returns to Nantwich Civic Hall for a Summer Special, featuring a top bill of acts.

Four acts are making their Nantwich debuts on the night on July 6 – including compere and host Junior Simpson (pictured).

A firm favourite and stalwart of the UK comedy scene, Simpson has numerous TV appearances under his belt and has performed worldwide and headlined clubs all over the UK.

The first act is Andrew Bird, who’s 2011 Edinburgh show “Andrew Bird’s Village Fete ” was a sell-out and received glowing reviews across the board.

Next up will be Mickey D – a true comedy heavyweight in his native Australia.

Mickey pulled off the comedy grand slam of the festivals of Montreal, Edinburgh, Melbourne, Auckland and his hometown Adelaide in 2007, and was awarded “Best Show” gong.

Roger Monkhouse will close the evening with his hilarious “grumpy old man” act, and trademark stage-prowling style and curious, inimitable manner. He is one of the hottest names on the comedy circuit.

Civic Comedy promoter Mike Ramm said: “We are thrilled to be able to bring four new acts to Nantwich. We’ve got a real mixed bill with something for everyone.

“Both Junior Simpson and Roger Monkhouse are incredibly highly regarded on the circuit and we’re thrilled to have Mickey D play for us, since coming to the UK he’s been making big waves on the comedy circuit.”

Fellow promoter Jon Mitchell added: “Roger’s deadpan delivery and sarcastic tone should go down a storm with the Nantwich faithful and you couldn’t ask for more than having Junior Simpson at the helm of the evening’s proceedings.”

The show takes place on Friday July 6. Tickets are £10, available from Nantwich Civic Hall and www.civiccomedy.co.uk

Doors 7.15pm, show 8.15pm.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
