Nantwich Cricket Club, Whitehouse Lane

Two-time league champions Nantwich CC continue to struggle for form after suffering a heavy defeat at home to Hyde .

The Dabbers were skittled out for just 126 in a one-sided Cheshire County Premier League encounter at Whitehouse Lane.

After opting to bat first, Nantwich never recovered from losing Jonny Kettle, Louis Bentley and Ollie Law for just 11 runs.

They had lost eight wickets for less than 80 runs, but managed to scramble to 126 thanks to the efforts of promising teenager Sam Hunt (28 not out) and skipper Andy Newton (26).

Lively bowling from Hyde’s Greg Lomax (4-21) and Scott Kirwin (4-54) backed up by keen fielding, proved the difference.

And Nantwich’s attack couldn’t take advantage of the seamer’s wicket, when Hyde started their reply.

Tom Twiney (77) out-batted his in-form skipper Danny Berry (54) as the pair knocked off the runs in 22 overs.

Hyde secured 25 points to keep them in touch with early pace-setters Oxton, while Nantwich failed to register a point.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
