Showtime - Crewe Lyceum Theatre, to stage a wedding fayre, and summer events

By Claire Faulkner
The Crewe Lyceum audience was given an insight into South Cheshire’s dance and artistic talent.

A one-off song and dance show “Curtain Up” was staged by local groups Musical Mayhem, Nantwich-based X Academy, Inspire and Dance Basics.

And it brought us a production which proves how much local talent we have in the area.

We were treated to a variety of dancing styles including the samba, rumba and tango.

The two dancing stars which stood out to the audience and received a special round of applause were the two youngsters who danced along side the adults in the ‘Copacobana’.

I think it’s fair to say they stole most of the hearts in the audience.

Songs and dances from the musicals appeared in the second half. The ‘Mary Poppins’ and ‘West Side Story’ selection reminding me why I enjoy the theatre so much.

The work and commitment brought by each member of the cast and crew was evident in this production. Well done to everyone involved.

I hope to see you all back working together at The Lyceum next year.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
