Wistaston St Mary's Church and tower

By Jonathan White
A beacon to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee will be lit at the top of the St Mary’s Church tower in Wistaston.

The lighting will take place at 10.15pm on June 4 and should be visible over a wide area.

It will form part of a network of 4,000 beacons across the UK.

Members of Wistaston Scouts will be on hand to serve food and drink for people who gather for the event.

It has been organised by the Wistaston Community Council with help in funding from Cheshire East Council and Wistaston Parish Council.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
