Nantwich Cricket Club, Whitehouse Lane

Nantwich CC looked back to their best after notching a convincing victory at home to Chester Boughton Hall.

The Whitehouse Lane 1sts skittled Chester out for just 128, recording a 75-run victory and 25 points into the bargain.

Skipper Andrew Newton won the toss and the hosts batted first on a damp pitch which the groundsmen did remarkably well to make playable.

Jonny Kettle was key for Nantwich, hitting 84, with assistance from Chris Simpson (21) and Ollie Law (20).

Jimmy Warrington chipped in with 27 from the middle order to leave Nantwich on 203 for 8 off their 55 overs.

Ian Linwood was the pick of Chester’s attack, claiming 5 for 56.

Chester started their reply slowly with Mike Robinson topscoring with 43 assisted by Mark Rowlands (22) and Kumar Sarne (28).

They reached 121 when their fifth wicket fell as Warrington returned to the attack to replace the injured Ray Doyle.

Warrington then scythed through the remaining batsmen as he returned figures of 5 for 40, dismissing Chester for 128.

Ollie Griffiths and Ray Doyle both claimed two wickets each and Alex Matthews who claimed one wicket to earn 25 points while Chester were left with three points.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
