Proposer Cllr Christine Farrall said: “We are fortunate in having someone who will continue the good work of Cllr Moran and who will work hard for Nantwich.”

Cllr Fenton is known for his work helping to organise the popular Nantwich Food and Drink Festival and helping to run the Guy Harvey Youth Club in the town.

The Mayor’s Chaplain for 2012-13 will be Pastor Michelle Nunn, of Nantwich Pentecostal Church based at Regents Park.

And the Mayor’s chosen charity to raise funds for will be those supported by Nantwich Rotary Club.

Cllr Moran attended over 85 functions as Mayor during a year in which his wife Margaret passed away.

He said: “It has been a great privilege and honour to be Mayor for this wonderful town. It’s also been one of the most difficult years of my life with the loss of my wife Margaret.

“We were married 42 years, and she was an extremely brave lady dealing with a terminal illness in the way she did. My faith, family, friends and colleagues gave me the strength to keep going.”

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
