St Luke’s Hospice Cheshire have unveiled plans to open a new shop in Nantwich.

The charity has submitted proposals to take over a vacant store on Pillory Street (pictured), and aim to turn it into a children’s treat parlour.

If given the go ahead, the first floor will be turned into a creperie, ice cream and sweetie parlour.

On the second floor they hope to stage children’s parties and activities, a small gift area and provide a place for residents to donate items and money to the hospice.

There will also be a paved area at the rear and tables and chairs for adults to have a drink.

St Luke’s director Andrea Ladeira hopes the store will help to boost donations and arrest the downturn in funds currently being suffered.

She said: “We have been thinking about how we can interact with younger people, we already have a bus that visits schools in the area.

“We found this property which we thought was ideal to open our first outlet in Nantwich.

“We want to create something special for children to play, have a treat and encourage them to bring in toys and items they no longer want.

“It should be quite quirky and fun, and won’t look like a traditional charity shop.”

The plans are currently being considered by Cheshire East Council.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
