Police swooped on three suspected shoplifters in an area of Nantwich today as motorists looked on.

PSCOs from Nantwich detained three men close to the former Stapeley Water Gardens site off London Road.

More officers then arrived in squad cars at the junction of London Road and Peter de Stapleigh Way to arrest them and take them into custody.

The incident happened at around 3pm today (May 2).

One eyewitness said: “There were loads of police by the Stapeley Water Gardens lights.

“Officers seemed to be going in where the old Stapeley Gardens house was. The road stayed open but there was a lot of activity.”

A police spokeswoman said three men arrested are aged 35, 36 and 37 and are from the St Helens area.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
