A Nantwich tearoom has earned an Award for Excellence in The Tea Guild’s Top Tea Place 2012 awards.

The accolade means Ginger & Pickles, based on Mill Street, is now recognised as one of the best of its kinds in Britain.

The Top Tea Awards, going for 27 years, has the best tea venues competing for the honour for outstanding quality and standards in tea service.

The Tea Guild’s inspectors visited Ginger & Pickles and other venues anonymously to ensure results are  fair and accurate.

Points were awarded for variety, flavour and knowledge of teas, quality of food, service, décor, ambience, and presentation.

Ginger & Pickles was awarded very high marks in every category resulting in an Award of Excellence.

Irene Gorman, head of the Tea Guild, said: “This Award of Excellence to Ginger & Pickles was presented in recognition of consistently high standards of tea making and customer service, evident in the care and attention to detail with which afternoon tea was prepared and served.”
