Nantwich Town striker Michael Lennon is hoping to bag his 100th goal for the Dabbers – and push his side closer to the play-offs.
They entertain high-flyingHednesford Town tomorrow (Jan 14), and Lennon said he is keen to maintain his goal every two games ratio.
But the marksman (pictured) also told how he’d trade all his goals for promotion from the Evo-Stik Premier League this season.
Lennon said: “I’m looking forward to hopefully reaching 100.
“Personally, it will be a great achievement for me, I love the club and fans and it is nice to reach a milestone for a club you are so fond of.
“It will start playing on my mind if I don’t get it in the next two games but that is because I set myself a target of having a one goal every two games ratio.
“I’m told by the club I’m on 99 in 185 appearance so I’m sticking to my target. I would trade all the goals for promotion this season though!”
Lennon said his strike partner Ben Mills, who left the club Macclesfield Town this week, will be “a big miss.”
“Fair play to Ben, he is a top lad with a lot of potential,” he said.
“He will be a miss as I felt we were improving our partnership week by week, but the offer was too good to turn down.
“Myself and the club wish him all the very best.”
Hednesford will provide a stern test as they arrive at the Weaver Stadium in third place, just four points behind leaders Chester.
Kick off is 3pm.
