A51 Bypass crash

High winds are affecting road users across South Cheshire, with fallen trees and debris causing chaos.

The main A530 Shrewbridge Road has been closed off both ways due to a fallen tree at Coole Lane, just south of Nantwich.

Cheshire Police have attended more than 15 incidents relating to fallen trees, branches, and debris in the road since 6am today (January 5).

Motorists are advised to tune into local radio stations for updates in relation to road closures.

Police are warning drivers to take extra care and to plan ahead, allowing plenty of time for their journey driving in the adverse weather conditions.

The Eastern parts of Cheshire have been particularly affected by the weather, say police.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
