salvation army trading company

The Salvation Army charity shop in Nantwich will be launching its gift amnesty scheme on January 3.

The store, on Beam Street, joins dozens of others in the “Re:gift” scheme which offers people with unwanted Christmas presents the chance to give them a good home.

Customers can take in unwanted presents with everything being accepted until the end of February.

All donations will be either reused or recycled, with profits gift-aided to The Salvation Army to help fund its work throughout the UK.

Homeless services, elderly care, family tracing, addictions services and help at emergencies are some of the services the charity provides.

Ann Penny, area manager, said: “Re:gift is the perfect chance for people to get rid of those well meant but unwanted Christmas presents to make room for some sale shopping, while helping to raise money for charity.

“It may not be to your taste or fit properly but chances are if you’ve only just received it, it will be in very good condition and crying out for a new home.

“We’re accepting everything from clothing to toys, CDs, DVDs and bric-a-brac – just remember one person’s unwanted present could be another’s prized find.”

Customers dropping off presents will also be offered one of the store’s new “re:ward” loyalty cards.

The free double-sided card rewards customers each time they spend £5 in the shop or donate unwanted items using one of the shop’s reuseable “re:bags”.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
