A Nantwich youngster won an Olympics Christmas card competition which saw one of his creations posted to Prime Minister David Cameron.
Sam Ridout, a pupil at Weaver Primary School, was the overall winner of the competition hosted by local MP Edward Timpson.
A prize giving ceremony was held at the Mayor’s Reception Rooms in Crewe to congratulate pupils on their designs for a special Olympics Christmas card competition.
Winner Sam was delighted when Mr Timpson said he had “signed over 1,500 cards which were produced at no cost to the taxpayer, including one which was sent to the Prime Minister, David Cameron.”
Sam’s mum Sue Ridout said: “We are very proud and Sam hopes, one day, to visit the Houses of Parliament to see how big and grand they are.”
Mr Timpson awarded the children with gifts from the House of Commons, as well as Christmas chocolates.
Competition runners up included Kirsty Fraser, Faith Hough, Hattie Lowe, Megan Tew and Callum McNeil.
The children’s designs will be displayed in Mr Timpson’s constituency office window until the New Year.
