Elederly folk across Nantwich and South Cheshire are tucking into wholesome breakfasts thanks to a porridge donation from Mornflake.
The Crewe-based breakfast foods firm has teamed up with Age UK Cheshire to distribute bags of porridge to pensioners at coffee mornings and advice sessions.
More than 800 bags of 500g of Mornflake porridge oats are being handed out to older people at events which highlight the work of the charity.
Pensioners attending Age UK Cheshire coffee mornings at Nantwich Health centre off Beam Street on November 25, 28, and 30 will receive a free bag. There will also be an event at the health centre on December 2.
Mornflake marketing manager, Richard Jones, said: “Porridge is the perfect breakfast food for people of any age but we especially wanted to support Age UK Cheshire and its work with some of the most vulnerable members of our community.
“Rising fuel and food costs don’t make life easy for pensioners and this is one way we can do our bit to help.”
