Nantwich Town’s big FA Cup day out at League One MK Dons ended in a disappointing 6-0 defeat.

But the result was a little harsh on the Dabbers who performed heroically for the best part of half an hour before conceding the first goal.

Until Mathias Kouo-Doumbe’s 28th minute header, Nantwich had held firm and gave a good account of themselves.

Two minutes later Dean Bowditch added a second after a neat one-two.

Jimmy Quinn’s boys made it to half-time but any faint hopes of a comeback were finished nine minutes after the restarts when Bowditch added his second with a fine curling free-kick.

Daniel Powell made it 4-0 in the 66th minute, giving Jonathan Brain no chance, before late goals by James O’Shea and 16-year-old substitute George Williams completed the rout.

Nantwich players can hold their heads high despite the scoreline.

They enjoyed 54% of the possession, and gave the hundreds of travelling supporters a great day out in  front of more than 4,000 fans at StadiumMK.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
