A51 Bypass crash

Hundreds of commuters were delayed after a lorry got stuck on the A500 between Nantwich and the M6.

Cheshire Police had to close the main trunk road in both directions during the incident at 5.30am (November 10).

It happened between junction 16 and the first roundabout for Crewe. It’s believed the lorry driver was trying to do a u-turn when it became stuck.

Drivers trying to get to work were diverted onto minor roads and country lanes around Englesea Brook, Barthomley, Audley and other villages.

Articulated lorries trying to use similar diversions caused more hold-ups on narrow lanes.

Police managed to re-open to A500 at around 8am.

It’s not thought anyone was injured in the incident. No other vehicles were involved.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
