TV actor and comedian Ben Miller is returning to his Nantwich roots this week to open a new play area.

The former Malbank School pupil is in town to re-open the new Stapeley recreation site, next to Pear Tree Primary School.

Miller, currently starring in BBC detective drama Death in Paradise, will perform the official re-opening this Friday November 11.

The area was closed for a few weeks recently to allow more equipment, seating and landscaping to take place.

Members of the Stapeley Parish Action Group have organised an afternoon of entertainment for youngsters and parents attending the event from 3.30pm.

Kids activities will include face painting, an arts/craft tent and balloon modelling, refreshments will be served by Pear Tree School PTA.

SPAG spokeswoman Tracey Knight said: “Ben Miller will be making a guest appearance and cutting the ribbon. We hope to see you there.”

Funding for the play area was provided by the lottery’s Community Spaces grant, with initial money coming from Cheshire East Council and Stapeley Parish Council.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
