A pub in Nantwich is applying to extend its drinking and live music hours, despite being investigated over complaints of late night noise.
The White Horse pub in Pillory Street wants to extend its drinking hours to 2am indoors seven days a week, and extend live entertainment licence to 2.30am.
It has also applied for a late night refreshments licence from 11pm to 3am.
However, seven letters of objection have been lodged by residents living nearby the venue.
Environmental Health has also objected and said they are investigating complaints of noise nuisance in the venue and the outdoor drinking area.
They say “there is a potential that the extension… could cause a public nuisance to neighbouring dwellings.”
A landlord representing tenants on Love Lane has also objected to the plans.
He said tenants have had to complain in person to pub staff about late night loud music, the binning of glass bottles.
They also cite drunken behaviour of drinkers leaving in the early hours, including smashing windows and urinating in private alleyways.
Cheshire East’s Licensing Sub-Committee was due to make a decision on the application today (October 28th).
