Residents and staff at Richmond Village Nantwich have raised more than £550 for Parkinsons UK.
Local members of the charity attended a presentation at the village, off London Road, and collected a cheque for £551.25.
The money was raised at the village’s Summer Fayre and through a balloon race, where 300 balloons were released with a prize of a family pass to Chester Zoo on offer.
Dennis Fricker, chairman of the Crewe branch of Parkinsons UK (pictured, left), collected the cheque alongside Alison Harding (village advisor), Jenny Sadler, and resident Ailsa Thompson.
Mr Fricker said: “The amount raised was absolutely amazing. We also thoroughly enjoyed the Summer Fayre and met lots of lovely people who all helped to make the event such a wonderful success.
“The money will go towards providing a specialist nurse to help people affected by Parkinsons.”
