Members of Stapeley Parish Council have revealed their frustration at the ongoing saga over the new community hall which is still not open for use.

Hundreds of families have looked on in annoyance as the hall continues to be unused with metal fencing surrounding the site.

Parish clerk Carol Jones said their legal adviser had contacted Cheshire East Council twice and was still waiting for a response.

“Members of the Parish Council are as frustrated as residents about the slow progress,” she said.

“We feel that the hall can be a wonderful asset to the community and hope that the wait will be worth it.”

Cllr Steve Wilkinson, Cabinet support member with responsibility for prosperity, blamed delays on the legal process between Cheshire East and developers Bovis, particularly over boundaries.

“The legal process is ongoing between the parties with a view to completing the lease documentation at the earliest opportunity,” he said.

“There has been considerable discussion, agreement and some compromise between Cheshire East Council and Bovis. This involves the adoption of boundary responsibilities that would be contrary to our usual stance in this situation.

“However, this is believed to be acceptable to move this matter forward.”

He said they have informed Stapeley Parish Council of the situation and issued “heads of terms” relating to the proposed occupation by the Parish Council.

“Cheshire East has also initiated the process of procuring the required ‘fit out’ works to be financed by the Section 106 monies and as required for the intended use by the Parish Council,” he added.

“These works have subsequently been undertaken and completed to all parties’ approval.”

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

As a nearby resident, the best plan for the ‘asset, would be to demolish it.
It has already been vandalised on more than three separate occasions and regularly hosts most nights, gangs of screaming teenagers, getting up to no good.Roll on the cold weather.!!.
As a matter of interest, a hall survey ,carried out 3 years ago by the Parish Council was only responded to by less than 19% of the locals, so hardly eagerly awaited then.
