Nantwich Town battled out a 1-0 victory at home to Stocksbridge Park Steels in a game dominated by the officials.
A goal by in-form Ben Mills was enough to give the Dabbers all three points at the Weaver Stadium in front of 316 supporters.
But it was the two sendings off and nine bookings which the Evo-Stik Premier League game will be remembered for.
Stocksbridge striker Mark Ward was first to see red, followed by Nantwich midfielder Aleksandrs Solovjovs.
Jimmy Quinn’s men were well worth the victory, though. They started the brighter and could have taken the lead as early as the sixth minute thanks to stinging Sean Cooke free-kick well saved.
The victory moves Nantwich into the top half of the table with 16 points from 11 games, with an away game at Rushall Olympic to come this Tuesday night (September 27).
Meanwhile, Nantwich long-term servant Ashley Carter has agreed to join Potteries club Kidsgrove Athletic.
Ashley made more than 200 appearances for the Dabbers.
A club spokesman said: “We’d all like to thank him for contribution he has made and wish him well for the future.”
