TV comedian and actor Ben Miller will open phase two of a popular new play area in his home town Nantwich.

More work on the Stapeley recreation area, next to Pear Tree Primary School, will begin this week.

It will see the area closed from September 21 for around four weeks.

Work will see two more pieces of play equipment installed, including a multi-play unit and springy seesaw.

There will also be extra seating, bins, a cycle rack and a pathway built in the area opposite the Cronkinson Farm pub.

The work is being funded by the Big Lottery Fund under its Community Spaces programme.

Organiser Tracey Knight said: “We are delighted to confirm actor and comedian, Ben Miller, has kindly accepted our invitation to officially open phase two on Friday November 11 at 3.30pm.

“Please come along – everyone welcome!”

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
