A man suffered serious head injuries in an alleged attack outside Gregory’s nightclub in Nantwich.

The 21-year-old victim, from Cumbria, was found unconscious outside the club on Castle Street at 2.30am on Saturday (September 10).

He was taken to Leighton Hospital and later transferred to North Staffordshire General Hospital and has since regained consciousness.

Police arrested a 20-year-old man from Crewe at the scene which remained taped off during Saturday for forensic examinations.

A spokeswoman for Cheshire Police said: “The 20 year old man arrested has been released on police bail. No one else was involved.

“Any witnesses to the incident are urged to call Nantwich Police on 0845 4580000.”
