Nantwich CC have reached the final of the Cheshire Cup with a convincing semi-final win over Widnes.

Batting first Nantwich scored 231 with RayDoyle (76) and Glen Batticciotto (68) leading the way.

George Cairns hit 60 to help post a big total which proved too much for Widnes.

They were skittled out for 150, with Jimmy Warrington, Andrew Newton and Ray Doyle among the wickets.

It means the Dabbers now host Hyde in the final at Whitehouse Lane this Sunday September 11 in 45 overs a side encounter.

It’s only the second time in Nantwich’s history they have reached the final, the previous time back in 1974 when they lost out to Alderley Edge.

The club is hoping ofr a large crowd and the bar will be open all day with food available. Admission is free, parking available.
